Lilac Wine…

Some recent photographs of the Polaroid nature…yes, I found some film in Sydney.

Playing around in the back yard with a willing model

The best cafe in Glebe..Le Petit Tarte

Shoes and typewriter and reflection…

and finally, the selfie I took for the Save Polaroid group on Flickr. They ask that you shoot a self portrait and then describe why you love Polaroid so much. This is what I said…

I think of Polaroid as a beautiful art form. There is no other type of photography that gives such instant happiness. I’ve had Polaroid cameras in my family my whole life and hearing that whirring zipping out of the camera has always given me such joy.
You click..it whirrs and then zips, you pull out the polaroid and wait while it transforms before your eyes.
And the photographs themselves are beautiful and dreamlike. Unlike any other film out there.
This love, this passion, is being taken away from so many die hard fans, lovers and artists.
If only there were a billionaire out there who loved this gorgeous art form as much as all we do…

We love you, Polaroid

Can Ilford Save Polaroid?

I heard the rumours, so I went and asked the source.

The response I received from media publicity at Ilford was that Ilford and Polaroid are discussing Ilford taking over the production of Polaroid’s instant monochrome film. It’s very early days and nothing is certain but that is some very hopeful news. Fingers crossed that it happens. I can’t see why Polaroid would have any reason to not allow this.

My 2nd last Polaroid...need to stock up on film ASAP!

For the Love of Light: A Tribute to the Art of Polaroid

title2.jpg

In the coming months, a little project that I am involved in, will be emerging. Due to the unfortunate ceasing of Polaroid film, the fabulous and talented Jenifer Altman, has called together a group of Polaroid shooting photographers to be part of a project which pays tribute to this beautiful photography.
For the Love of Light will showcase polaroids from 25 photographers from around the world, myself included. I am very honoured to be a part of the project and for now, direct you to the website. The finale to the project will be a book, which hopefully will be for sale to the public. For updates, click on the mailing list link on the website.

Silent Faces

I have a new cousin. =D

Jens Lekman finished off madness music mayhem for I’m hoping till at least July. He’s a funny dude.

Oh! CanadaI’m trying to shoot more portraits in the form of a project. I figure if I give myself a project, I’m more likely to actually do it. I’ve even given it a name. So far I’ve shot The Canadian and The Lil Sis, whom are my usual subjects, so I’m looking for more people to prance upon. My friends are not exactly jumping with joy to be models! Its called Silent Faces.

You Want Me To What?
