I usually do a Top Music shots each year but this year was rather lacking in not only gigs, but gigs where I took photos. Stand out shows were Joanna Newsom, Andrew Bird, Jarvis Cocker and Peter Bjorn and John. I know this year is already going to be far more pleasing starting in a week with Sufjan Stevens.
So instead I am simply doing a general best of for 2007…maybe its not even a best of, but more my favourites.

Pink and Green..I played a lot and learnt a lot more about photoshop this year. The photo has to be good to begin with, but photoshop really can make a good photo great. I was really pleased with this shot.

2007 was the year of walking around Glebe with my camera. This is my local laundromat which Sean and I spent a lot of time in. We don’t use it anymore as we have no need, but if you ever do visit, the man who works in there is a gem. The one next to Glebe Point Diner. I liked the way the last dryer has clothes spinning.

July saw our trip to Boston and Vancouver and was the highlight of my year. I fell in love with Boston, although this was taken in Vancouver.

On that trip I went to the hallowed ground that is Fenway Park and saw a Boston Red Sox game. It was awesome. I am now a converted fan.

I also got to meet the rest of Sean’s family who live in Boston. I fell in love with his cousins, this one was the perfect performer for the camera. She made me want to shoot more kids.

So I did. Sort of…

It was the year that I well and truly became obsessed with Flickr. I check it many times daily.

I took part in Flickr fun and sillyness. This was for Roid Week.

My phtoography took a little spin when I was asked to be the Sydney photographer for the new travel website, Planet Eye. I haven’t spoken much about this yet as the site is still in beta mode, but its pretty exciting and I’m glad I was a part of it. What I’ve seen so far looks fantastic.

Of course, there were a few gigs I shot and enjoyed and maybe not everyone’s favourite, but I loved this shot I took of Jarvis Cocker, which was huge highlight for me in 2007.

and of course there were hundreds of shots taken of the Canadian, but I think this was my favourite.
Thanks to all the awesome regulars who stop by and leave me words of encouragement here. I was a pretty slack blogger in 2007. I spent most of my online time devouring shots on Flickr. I will try to do better in 2008!
I hope that in about 2 weeks time I will have heaps of cool music oriented shots to share!
