If you don’t know Myla Kent, you should.

She is a photographer whom I have admired for a long time. She works out of Seattle and shoots Seattle life like no other. If I were to describe Myla’s work, I would say she shoots life scenes, people in their own environment, and she makes you feel like you are sitting in a cafe on the street watching them all walk by. It’s photojournalism. It’s real life, it’s Seattle.

Myla also somehow magically turns her camera lens into a fisheye when animals are near, she turns lakes into mystical beings like something out of Lord of the Rings and does a little bit of amazing wedding work on the side. Oh, did I mention she is the photographer of choice for exquisite fashion designer Luly Yang and happens to build websites for some actress by the name of Meryl Streep. You may have heard of her.

Not only is Myla an amazing photographer, she is an absolute inspiration to so many and one of the kindest, most charming people you’d ever want to know.

These photographs were not taken by Myla, she is way better than that. These were shots I stole from her whilst I was wandering the city this week. I found myself immersed in the crowd and felt “very Myla”, so I had to shoot.
