Now if I had walked into HMV and asked for the Japanese pressing of The Sugarcubes’ debut album, I would have expected to not walk out of the store with it in my hands. It is not expected that HMV should be able to provide the services of Red Eye or even JB Hi Fi for that matter, but for them to have a copy of Coldplay’s brand new album a day after it is released, I would think is not too much to ask.

I have been quite trepidatious about this new album after I found X & Y to be pretty underwhelming but its been getting good reviews from Ateasers (serious radiohead fans who don’t usually like anything much), has had some airplay on triple j and from what I’ve heard so far, seems to be far more like the Coldplay that I once loved. Violet Hill ain’t grabbing me, but the few other songs I have heard seemed better than Speed of Sound, that’s for sure. I kinda like what I’m hearing on the iTunes commercial too.

So yeah, I still haven’t heard it as sucky HMV can’t even order enough copies to meet the demand of one of the most anticipated albums of the mainstream year. Poor form.

And of course, we paid the ridiculous amount of money any crazed Sigur Ros fan would pay right now. You have our money, Sigur Ros management people, but we do not have our Sigur Ros download when others do. We still do not even have a confirmation email to confirm that we are even receiving the expensive items that we freakin paid for over a week ago. I want my damn album download, you click ‘n’ buy bastards!
